Paper garden - the incredible art of Mary Delany

Mary Delany (1700-1788) was an English artist and bluestocking. Her life was a crooked journey, born of a noble family with lacking funds she was married off to a 60 year old alcoholic Member of Parliament when she was only 17, a widow by 23 and though she was always on the pursuit of art and knowledge, she began her lifes work by the mature age of 72. Her cut paper works, or "paper mosaiks"as she refered to them, resemble botanical specimens so accurately they're still refered to by botanists today.
